Does Online Counseling Work?
The coronavirus (COVID-19) has changed the world, for sure, but counselors have been prepared for this. Many counselors have offered virtual sessions for years for clients who travel or are otherwise unable to make it into an appointment in the office. The benefits of online therapy are especially obvious in these days. I am seeing quality results with clients online, as I would in face-to-face sessions.
How Does Online Counseling Work?
The way online therapy works is you make an appointment with me the way you always would, call or email me. After that, I will send you a link to the private, virtual office. You click on the link at your scheduled hour using a device with internet access (a computer, tablet, or phone) and enter your name. It’s that simple.
What Is It Like?
The experience you have as a client during an online session is much like a Facetime or Skype experience, but the technology is better. The connection is encrypted and meets the high privacy standards for HIPAA. So, you can rest assured that your conversation with me is safe.
